Betty Rickett Johnson

Betty Rickett Johnson, age 69 of Gordon County, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at her residence. Betty was born on June 7, 1945, daughter of the late Clyde Monroe Rickett and Bessie Mae Shaw Rickett. She was a member of the Reeves Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Annette Jones in 2004. She is survived by her husband, Bill Johnson; son, Tyron Johnson and his wife Tammy; four brothers, James and Gail Rickett, David and Joan Rickett, Ralph and Susan Rickett, and Franklin and Penny Rickett; three grandchildren, Brooke Johnson, Brandi Johnson Brumlow, and Swayze Johnson; and one great-grandson, Mitt Brumlow. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Kathy Brown, Barbara Scott, Brenda Moore, Janis Ward, and Barbara Talley. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, December 21st at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Steven Pearson officiating. Amy Rickett will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery with Reverend Gary Tate officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5 – 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
