Denna Timms Smith

Mrs. Denna Timms Smith, age 55 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday morning June 6, 2015 at Calhoun Health Care. Denna was born in Whitfield County January 15, 1960 to Daisy West and the late Albert Timms. She worked in the textile industry having worked for Carriage Industries. She is preceded in death by four brothers; Odell Timms, Timothy Timms, Randy Timms, and Richard Tate. She attended church at Tabernacle of Praise. Survivors include her husband Charles Smith of Calhoun; mother, Daisy West; son, Anthony Dutton and his wife Brandy of Calhoun; three daughters, Mandy Gentry and her husband Frank, Jr. of Calhoun, Kendra Wells and her husband Jeremy of Calhoun, and Takowa Jones of Sugar Valley; brother Tony Timms of Searcy, Arkansas; sister Debbie Moore of Calhoun; nine grandchildren and two great grand children. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Monday June 8, 2015 at 3 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday June 7, 2015 from 2 to 5 PM. Pallbearers serving include; Jake Gentry, Jeremy Wells, Lee Timms, Thomas Pigman, Dale Lay, B.J. Sutton, Kalin Lay, Odell Timms, Dakota Culberson, ODell Worley, and Wyat Worley.
