Hildreth Woods

Mrs. Hildreth Floyd Woods, 95, of Plainville, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Mrs. Woods was born in Plainville on May 25, 1922, where she was delivered on the same night and by the same doctor as her late husband, Ellis Z. Woods. She is the daughter of the late Molly and Ray Floyd. She was a graduate of Plainville High School, where she was Valedictorian of her class. She worked at Brighton Mills, Shannon from 1940 until 1952 and then went on to be a homemaker and substitute teacher at Plainville School. She was a charter member of Plainville Independent Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for 30 years. Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ellis Z. Woods in 2011. She was also preceded by two brothers, Hoyt and Jerry Floyd, and two sisters, Mildred and Louis Floyd. Survivors include: one daughter, Pam Woods Treglown, and her husband Jim of Plainville; two granddaughters, Stephanie Treglown Pearson and her husband Justin of Adairsville, and Megan Treglown of Plainville; and two great-grandchildren, Caden and Callie Pearson. She is also survived by her two sisters, Clemmie Wright and Betty Byerly of Plainville; and a brother, Lex Floyd and his wife Jean of Shannon. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Woods was blessed with several loving caregivers, Cindy Gossage, Pam Byerly, Emma Copeland, and Wendy Bramlett. Mrs. Woods was a long-time resident and friends of the Plainville Community. She had an enormous heart, particularly when it came to family and friends. Visitation will be at Plainville Independent Methodist Church on Friday, June 30th from 2 PM until the funeral hour at 4 PM. Funeral Services will follow with the Reverend Ted Fuller and Reverend Travis Hyde officiating. Graveside Services will be held after at Franklin Cemetery. Pallbearers will include: Justin Pearson, Terrelle Byerley, Chad Floyd, Dempsey Wright, Wally Voelker, Fay Autry, and Tim Fuller. Music will be provided by Angie Childers and Amber Lee. Flowers will be accepted; however, Mrs. Woods would have appreciated donations made to Plainville Independent Methodist Church. Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Hildreth Floyd Woods, age 95 of Plainville.
