John Thomas "Gus" Booz

John Thomas “Gus” Booz, age 68 of Scottsville Community, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Floyd Medical Center following several months of declining health. Gus was born on October 17, 1948 in Floyd County to the late Thomas Evans Booz and Elizabeth VanLandingham. He was a Plant Dye House Manager for Shaw industries for many years. He is survived by his loving wife, Belinda Joan Booz; son, Matthew Thomas Booz from the Scottsville community, sister, Jane Thompson, her husband Butch and their son Jason Thompson from Rockmart. Graveside Service will be conducted Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 3:30 PM from Greenwood Cemetery in Cedartown with Reverend Danny Hightower and Reverend Clinton Carver officiating. Matthew Booz, Butch Thompson, Vernon Jones, Tim Hightower, Andy Hightower and Chris Hightower serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association.
