Sandra Sloan Underwood

Sandra Sloan Underwood, age 70, of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, November 22nd in Redmond Regional Medical Center. Sandra was born in Floyd County February 18, 1946, daughter of the late Felton Sloan and Jessie Bagley Sloan. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved animals, Nascar, and Elvis. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband; William Gravitt, her son; William Brian Gravitt and her daughter; Selena Gravitt. Survivors include her husband; Jimmy Underwood, her daughter; Candie Cornette and her husband James, two grandchildren; Nikki Cornette and Presley Carter and her husband Will, three brothers; Donald Sloan, Marshall Sloan and Ronnie Sloan and his wife April, two sisters; Jayne Davis and Claudette David and her husband Raymond all of Calhoun. Three sister in laws; Jean and Jerry Manning of Dalton, Jamie and Dewayne Cole of Blue Ridge and Jill and Steve Fite of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday November 26th at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery@ 8510 Double Head Gab Road, Ellijay, Georgia. Pallbearers serving will be Eddie Thomas, Allen Bailey, John Bailey, Chris Davis and Eric Davis.
