Albert "Al" Glancy, Jr.

Albert “Al” Glancy, Jr., age 96 of Sugar Valley, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his residence. Al was born on March 13, 1922 in Bethel, OH to the late Albert Glancy, Sr. and Josephine Hall Glancy. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and Air Force serving during WWII, where he earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Al is survived by his wife of 54 years, Edna Nations Glancy of Sugar Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Bill Schnider of Sterling, Michigan; two sisters, Mary Markey of Resaca, and Bettie Torella of Calhoun; and two grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, May 19th at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Reid officiating. Patricia Brock will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Hill City Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors. Nephews will serve as Pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday an hour prior to the funeral at Thomas Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions in honor of Al be made to Hill City Baptist Church.
