Clifton Scott Meadows, Sr., age 72 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. Scott was born on May 22, 1948 in Calhoun, Georgia to John Dudley Meadows, Jr. and Doris Esther "Scottie" Meadows. He is a 1967 graduate of Calhoun High School and attended Piedmont College. He cherished his childhood memories of the Hill Boys. Scott served in the Georgia Army National Guard, Headquarters Company, First Battallion, 108th Armor, for six years where he was trained as a medic. He was a proud 50 year continuous member of the Calhoun Elks Club. Scott was, also, a member of the American Legion Post 0047. Scott was very appreciative of the support given to him from the American Legion during his illness. Scott loved his family, his pets, beach trips, golf, good music, and beer. He especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play football for the Calhoun Yellow Jackets. Scott held the same season tickets for many years. Scott was employed by his brother, Mike Meadows, at Michael's Carpet for 35 years. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, John Dudley Meadows, Jr. and Doris Esther Meadows, his father in law, Wesley Robbins, his brother, Johnny Meadows, uncles, Dennis and Trammell Meadows, aunts Jeanette Powell and Marie Worley, and several aunts and uncles from the Scott side of his family. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Judy Robbins Meadows; daughter, Tracy Meadows Lester and her husband, Ronnie; son, Clifton Scott Meadows, Jr. and his wife, Christi; step son, Barry Saunders, and his wife Patti, step son, Greg Saunders and his wife Carla, step son, Michael Saunders and his wife, Jennifer; brother, Mike Meadows, and his wife, Patti, sister in law, Marie Meadows, sister in law, Luanne Holbert and her husband, Larry; cousin who was like a brother, Jimmy Meadows and his wife, Kathleen, fifteen grandchildren, Thomas Lester, Kayla Ousley, Bailey Lester, Mattie Lester, John Michael Meadows, Mack Meadows, Mason Meadows, Wesley Saunders, Christopher Saunders, McKenzie Saunders, Greer Saunders, Barrett Saunders, Braden Saunders, Tyler Saunders, Joseph Saunders; and a great-grandchild, Brenley Lester; Nephews; Michael Meadows and his wife, Jessica, Daniel Meadows, and his wife, Liz, Matt Meadows, and his wife, Brittany, Clint Meadows and his wife, Julia; BJ Meadows, and his wife, Cindy; Nieces, Missy Meadows and her husband, Ashley, Esther Janouski, and her husband, Ryan, Lacey Allston and her husband, Johnathan, Tishanna McClure, Marissa Chastain and her husband, Clay, mother in law, Marie Robbins; an aunt who is like a mother, Glenese Thornton; special cousins, Cynthia Jones, Marissa Yancey, Sara Ann Angland, Suzanne Smith, and Dudley Meadows; great nephews and nieces, and Susan Bailey Parker, mother of his children. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, July 2, at 4 pm in Chandler Cemetery with Barry Saunders officiating. Pallbearers serving include: Cliff Meadows, John Michael Meadows, Ronnie Lester, Thomas Lester, Bailey Lester, Michael Meadows, Daniel Meadows, Greg Saunders, Barrett Saunders, Braden Saunders, Michael Saunders, Wesley Saunders, Christopher Saunders In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Calhoun Elks Lodge and the American Legion Post 0047.
