Delmer Stone, age 80 of the Ranger Community died at 11:05 AM Saturday, January 9 at his residence. Delmer was born in Pickens County, March 1, 1940, a son of the late Luke and Nellie Stone. Also, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Mullinax Stone in July 2017; three brothers Elmer, Gene, Verlon, Terry Stone; and a sister, Faye Brooks. Delmer lived most of his life in Gordon County, and was a retired fuel manager for Carpet Transport Inc (CTI). He was a member of the Miracle Temple Church. Delmer is survived by two sons, Bobby and David Stone of Ranger; two daughters, Patricia Smith and Charlsie Damon of Ranger, one brother, Troy Stone and one sister, Gladys Stone; 6 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 12 at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Michael Stone officiating. Burial will be in the Miracle Temple Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 11 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Due to the ongoing national health crisis, face coverings must be properly worn by all those who plan to attend. Social distancing guidelines must be followed at all times while attending the service. Thomas Funeral Home has proudly been entrusted with the care of Delmer Stone.
