Janice Lee Edwards Copeland, age 63, of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Floyd Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Janice was born on August 22, 1953 in Floyd County. She was retired from Mannington Carpet. Janice is preceded in death by her step-father, Otto Walraven and a brother, Tony Edwards. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Walraven of Calhoun; son, Robert Copeland of Calhoun; a brother, Joey Walraven; sister, Pamela Franklin; four nieces, April Edwards, Stephanie Walraven, Christian Walraven and Dawn Franklin; one nephew, Weston Walraven and cherished children Dusty Prevette and Haley Prevette as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Minister Will Allen and Roger Burnley officiating. Burial will follow at Chandler Cemetery with Jonathan Defoor, Scott Waters, Jeremy Cooper, Chuck Crider, David Brown, Julian Brown, Greg Brown and Weston Walraven serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday April 21, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. Aunt Jan was always so good to me as a kid. I grew up spending many many nights with her and Rob. Playing games, watching movies, making icees, homeade pizza's, and homeade ice cream! We had lots of fun and made a lot memories that I will never forget.
