Linnie Mae Tate

Linnie Mae Long Tate, age 91, of the Ranger community, passed away Tuesday October 8th in Gordon Health Care. Linnie was born November 24, 1927 in Murray County, daughter of the late William Long and Florence Jones Long. She was a member of the Resaca Assembly of God and had been employed at Colormasters prior to her retirement. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Jefferson Tate, son; Jerry Tate, daughter; Kathy Shoemaker, son in law; Robert Banks and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include one son; Randy Tate of Calhoun, daughters; Joann Pass and her husband Estes, Janie Tate, Sue Young and her husband Mitchell Ross, and Sherry Banks. 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday October 12th at 1pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Timms and Rev. Taylor Gallman officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Kyle Banks, Sean Banks, Keith Young, Jason Young, Jeremy Young, and Blayde Townsend. The family will receive friends Friday evening October 11th from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home.
