Mary Jean Mullins Cox, age 85 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2019 at her residence. Jean was born on October 10, 1933 in Rome, GA to the late James Morgan Mullins and Rosa Mae Fox Mullins. In addition to her parents, Jean was also preceded in death by a brother, James Layton Mullins. Prior to her retirement, Jean worked for Horizon Carpets, later Shaw Industries, in the collections department. She attended Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. Jean is survived by: two sons, Brian Cox and Steve Cox; daughter, Laura Cox Kelley and her husband Pat; six grandchildren, Vincent Cox, Patrick Kelley, Andrew Kelley, Christopher Kelley, Nina Zackery, and Samantha Boggs. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 9th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Blackwood Springs Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 9th from 12 PM until 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
