Ruby Temples DorseyRuby Temples Dorsey, age 79 of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 in Floyd Medical Center. Ruby was born on March 15, 1935 in Fairmount, GA to the late Albert Temples and Lillian Wehunt Temples. Ruby was a member of the Salacoa Baptist Church and attended Meadowdale Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Fairmount High School Class of 1954 and was retired from Gordon Hospital where she was a dietary manager. Ruby was known throughout the community for doing alterations and enjoyed gardening flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Dorsey, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Bennett and her husband Russell of Calhoun; two sons, Keith Dorsey and his wife Nicole “CoCo” of Little Rock, AR and Dr. Marcus Dorsey and his wife Joyce of Vian, OK; four sisters, Frances Young of Calhoun, Barbara Temples of Calhoun, Shirley Wehunt and her husband Charles of Fairmount and Charlene Collins and her husband Alvin of Adairsville; grandchildren, Josh Bennett, Dr. Justin Bennett and his wife Sheena, Jessica Wilson and her husband Ryan, Drew Dorsey, Lilly Dorsey and Reece Dorsey; and great-grandchildren, Addie Bennett and Corbin Wilson. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, February 20th at 11:00 AM from the Meadowdale Baptist Church with Dr. Steven Pearson, Dr. Marcus Dorsey and Keith Dorsey officiating. Travis Stevens will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Josh Bennett, Justin Bennett, Ryan Wilson, Reece Dorsey, Kevin Wehunt and Randy Abernathy. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 – 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions are made to the Salacoa Baptist Church in care of James Marsingale at 10 Dooley Spring, N.E., Fairmount, GA 30139. Sharon and Family, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was one of the first people I ever worked with at Gordon Hospital in the late 70's. Such a sweet person. I enjoyed her so much. You were truly blessed to have such a special mom. Prayers for you and your family. Pam Roberts White
