Sarah Elizabeth Gallmon

Sarah Elizabeth Gallmon, age 79, of Calhoun, passed away Friday morning December 15th at her residence. Sarah was born March 10, 1938 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Archie Gaines and Essie Campbell Gaines. She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Shaw Industries. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Monty Gallmon; one brother, James Gaines; and two sisters, Peggy Jo Gaines and Genevieve Lowery. Survivors include her daughter, Holly Collins of Calhoun; two sisters, Linda Wagnon of Chatsworth and Elaine Howard and her husband Calvin of Resaca; three grandchildren, Brittany Walker, Starr Greeson and Alex Greeson; eight great-grandchildren, Austin Hawkins, Hallie Hawkins, Johnathan Hawkins, Coleston Walker, Savannah Fuller, Harmony Greeson, Destiny Westerman, and Gracie Westerman. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday December 17th at 1pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Alex Greeson, Starr Greeson, Stephen Walker, Timmy Couch, Shane Couch and Alvin Long. The family will receive friends from 3 until 7pm Saturday evening at the funeral home.
