Willis Hampton Panter

Willis Hampton Panter, age 91 of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Floyd Medical Center. Willis was born on August 19, 1927 in Ellijay, GA to the late Robert Harmon Panter, Sr. and Nannie Daves Panter. In addition to his parents, Willis was also preceded in death by: three brothers; and two sisters. He had attended the University of Georgia, and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. Willis was a jovial and generous person and supported many charities. Willis is survived by: his wife, Alice Fuller Panter; his son, Willis Panter, Jr.; daughter, Nan Panter and her husband Carl Lentry; brother, James F. Panter and his wife Margaret; two grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Panter and Kristen Marie Thompson and her husband Billy Lee Thompson; one great-grandson, Franklin Price Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, March 23rd at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. John Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Blackwood Springs Cemetery.
