Calhoun

Adam Dewayne Childers, age 53 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Panama City, FL.

Adam was born on September 10, 1971, in Calhoun, GA, the son of the late Willard Childers and the late Barbara Kirby Childers. Adam was a lifelong resident of Gordon County and a proud graduate of Gordon Central High School. From the time he was a little boy running around his dad’s body shop, his true happiness was in the work that would later become his lifetime career. When he took over the family business, Childers Body Shop, he took great pride in every car he painted and restored, earning a reputation for his incredible skill. He was a die-hard Georgia fan, loved building hot rods, and always enjoyed a good car show. More than anything, he loved his family and was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved most. He was of the Baptist faith.

Adam is survived by his wife, Sarah Childers; daughter, Lexi Childers; two step-sons, Bly Jordon and Braden Morgan; one brother; Brian Childers and his wife Erin; one sister, Susan Santizo and her husband Jose; two nephews, Trevor Childers and Liam Santizo; two nieces, Allie Childers and Scarlett Santizo; and mother of his daughter, India Talley.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4 PM until 6 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 6 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Tim McCulley officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of Childers Body Shop.
