Anita Erwin, age 79 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Calhoun Crossing.
Anita was born on September 24, 1946 in Dalton, GA, daughter of the late Ford Johnson Parker and Ila Mae Boston Parker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrell Parker and Larry Parker. She was a member of Farmville Methodist Church. Anita enjoyed sewing, baking, reading, and traveling to the beach with her family.
Anita is survived by; her husband of 58 years, Nevin Erwin; two daughters, Pam Erwin Sills and her husband Jack "Neal" Sills and Laura Erwin Heacox and her husband Shawn Heacox; and six grandchildren, Will Hogan, Connor Hogan, Jessica Smith, Taylorleigh Turnquist, Rachel Heacox, and Olivia Heacox; and two great-grandchildren, Jemmakate Smith and Tulsa Turnquist.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 4 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. Anita will lie in state at Farmville Methodist Church on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 1 PM until 2 PM.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 2 PM at Farmville Methodist Church with Reverend John Shivers and Reverend Jim Buckman officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Neal Sills, Shawn Heacox, Will Hogan, Connor Hogan, Dennis Mason, and Michael Johnson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Rachel Heacox, Olivia Heacox, Jessica Smith, Taylorleigh Turnquist, Jarrod Smith, Tyler Turnquist, the Staff at Calhoun Crossing, and the Staff of Affinity Hospice.
In addition to flowers donations in memory of Anita may be made to Farmville Methodist Church.
