Ann Caylor Shugart, age 83 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at The Fountains at Calhoun.
Ann was born on January 1, 1943, in Gordon County, GA, daughter of the late William L. Caylor and Pauline Hayes Caylor. Ann was reunited in heaven with the love of her life, her husband of 38 years, Frederick Alton “Freddie” Shugart, and her beloved daughter, Susan Myers. She was a faithful member of House of Prayer Baptist Church, where she and Freddie served as pastor before he passed away, and where her church family meant so much to her. Ann found joy in simple pleasures, especially shopping and spending time with friends. She retired from Arrow Exterminating, but her most meaningful work was the love and kindness she shared with those around her. A proud graduate of Calhoun High School, she stayed active and connected in her community as a member of the Red Hat Society and the “Gatabouts.” She also enjoyed being part of the Silver Sneakers club, encouraging others to stay active while sharing laughter and friendship along the way.
Ann is survived by her step-daughter, Melissa Moore and her husband Skeet; and three grandchildren, Zachary Moore, Gabe Moore, and Samuel Moore; one great-grandchild, Bentley Moore.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 30th, 2026, from 5 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, at 2 PM at House of Prayer Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Brown and Rev. Dewaine Shaddix officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include Zachary Moore, Gabriel Moore, Samuel Moore and Bentley Moore.
