Ben McClain Miller, age 58 of Plainville, GA, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at his residence.

 

Ben was born on February 3, 1966 in Floyd County, GA, the son of the late Waylon H. Miller and Thelma Elaine Knight Miller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Waylon “Tony” Miller. Ben worked as an EMT for Gordon EMS. He was also the former Fire Chief with the city of Adairsville and continued as a volunteer fireman with the city of Plainville after his retirement. Ben saved numerous lives during his service and did a lot of good for the community. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially planting and gardening. Ben was a talented Artisan in painting and woodworking. 

 

Ben is survived by his wife, Donna Pursley Miller; four children, Savanna (Ulises) Gomez, Matthew Taylor, Jason Taylor, and Kristen Kernea; four grandchildren, Skyy Taylor, Trinity Taylor, Marlee Kernea, and Jackson Kernea; and one brother, Mike Floyd.

 

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 1 PM until 3 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 3 PM with the from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Dutch Scott officiating.

 

Pallbearers serving are Steve Wright, Jason Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Mike Floyd, Bo Nicholson, Scott Wilson, and Jacob Casey.
