Benjamin Davis “Ben” Burns, age 22, of Calhoun, passed away Friday, May 17th from injuries received in an ATV accident.
Ben was born May 8, 2002, in Gordon County, the son of David Thomas Burns and Lori Michelle Johns Burns. As a member of the graduating Class of 2020, Ben was one of Sonoraville High School's most outstanding athletes. He was a member of the Meadowdale Baptist Church and loved to go fishing. You could also find Ben playing his Play Station with his friends at any given time. One of his proudest accomplishments was working with his dad, as the owner and operator of B & B Fiber Works in partnership with Hollow Rock Enterprises. Ben loved his family, his friends, and anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby and Shirley Burns.
He is survived by his father, David Burns, and his wife Keshia, his mother, Michelle Burns, four siblings, Baylie Burns, Cadee Burns, Layla Marie Burns, and Josh Gregory. Grandparents, Robert and Laura Lynn Kinsey and Max and Bobbie Johns.
A celebration of Ben’s life will be conducted Friday, May 24th at 3 pm from Grace Church on Peters Street with Rev. Ron Norrell officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening May 23rd from 5 until 9 pm at the church.
