Betty Greeson DeFoor

Betty Greeson DeFoor, age 92 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Morning Pointe Assisted Living. 

Betty was born on April 4, 1931, in Gordon County, the daughter of the late Quinton Greeson and Thelma King Greeson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnson B. DeFoor, and two brothers, Larry Greeson and Eldon Greeson. Betty was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and attended the Berry Academy. She was retired from the Georgia Game and Fishing Commissions Office. Betty attended Corinth Baptist Church, Damascus Baptist Church, and Calhoun First Baptist Church. 

Betty is survived by two sons, Scott DeFoor and his wife Patricia and Jere DeFoor and his wife Nancy; one grandchild, Ashley DeFoor Crider; three great-grandchildren, Hayden Crider, Teagan Crider, and James Crider.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 11 AM until 1 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Jeanne Arp McDade will be in charge of the music.  Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with Chuck Poarch, Drew Poarch, Russell DeFoor, Jeff DeFoor, and John DeFoor serving as pallbearers.
