Saturday, November 11, 2006 Billy Davidson, age 80 of Calhoun died at 5:35 AM, Friday, November 10, 2006 at his residence. He was born, April 7, 1926 in Gordon County, son of the late Elizabeth Davison Davidson and Andrew L. Davidson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Virginia Davidson; a daughter, Betty Hall; and several brothers and sisters, Les, Bee, Jess, Wess, Benton, Frank, Moe Fite, and Cora Davidson Gunter. He was a former member of the local American Legion and the local Moose Lodge. Also, he was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church. Billy is survived by one son, Billy Scott Davidson of Calhoun; four daughters and their husbands, Diane and Pete Rickman of Adairsville, Sandra and Randy Lyons of Calhoun, Gail and Randy Ford of Syracuse, New York, Sunya and Ronald Brannon of Jasper; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 Monday, November 13 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverends J.E. Glass and Max “Bud” Fuller officiating. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Bobby Hall, Pete Rickman, Randy Ford, Jamie Brannon, Ronald Collins, Billy Scott Davidson, and Jeremy Brannon. Honorary pallbearers are Emmett Young, Parham Hammontree, John Nelson, Charles Baker, Hughdon Bagley, and Rodney Duvall. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 PM, Monday. The family will receive friends after 5:00 PM, Saturday and from 2:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for the services of Billy Davidson of Calhoun.
