Saturday, September 09, 2006 Mr. Billy Lamar Holcomb, age 73 of Calhoun, and formerly of Lima , Ohio passed away peacefully Thursday September 7th. at his residence. Billy was born in Gordon County on Sept. 15, 1932 son of the late Wilburn and Aurie Kendrick Holcomb. Billy was an active member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church and a member of the Faith Seekers Sunday School Class. He was past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Ohio and was retired from Westinghouse Corp . Small Motor Division in Lima Ohio where he was an electrical engineer and the A.O. Smith Company in Tipp City , Ohio. . He proudly served with the U.S. Navy in the Korean War and in addition to his parents was preceded in death by his first wife Berta Sue DeFoor Holcomb in 1989 and a son Randall Lamar Holcomb in 2000 and a sister, Juanita Caldwell in 1998. He is survived by his wife Joan Hooper Holcomb of Calhoun, a daughter and son-in-law: Annette and Gary Huston of Michigan and one granddaughter; Laura Sue Huston of Michigan.. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Monday September 11th. 2006 from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn Officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Lew Caldwell, Kenny Beck, Danny Shumock, Tom Nunnelly, Kenneth Goodrum and T.J. Alford and they are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 9:30 A.M Monday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for Mr. Billy L. Holcomb.
