Tuesday, August 08, 2006 Mrs. Bonnie Lou Hunter age 71 of, Calhoun, died today (Tuesday) August 8th. at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Hunter was born in Bridgeport, Alabama on Nov. 16, 1934 daughter of the late Jesse P. and Mary Ellen Massey Wilson. Prior to her retirement she worked in the textile industry for a number of years, was a member of the Oostanaula Community Club, the Cherokee Prominaders and attended the Calhoun Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband J.B. Hunter in June of 1996. Survivors include four sons and their wives; Randall and Melissa Hunter, LaDon and Jennifer Hunter, Jim “Sandy” Hunter, and Lamar Hunter all of Calhoun. Two sisters; Mary Jones of Cedartown and Ruby Lee of Camp Verde, Arizona. Five grandchildren; Jonathan, Julie, Derick, Lavette and Jason Hunter and one great-grandchild; Jaylin Hunter. Nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday August 10th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Jonathan and Derick Hunter, Dewayne Myers, Hollis Allison, Lew Wilson Myers, Marvin McBee, Darrell Geving and Johnny Ballew and they are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 12:30 P.M. on Thursday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home after 12:00 Noon on Wednesday August 9th. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Bonnie Lou Hunter.
