Boyb Colen Angle

Boyd Colen Angle, age 79, of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at his residence.

Boyd was born on January 6, 1947, in Welsh, West Virginia, son of the late Colen Dick Angle and Helen Bailey Angle. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Angle Ramsey; two brothers, Tim Angle and Randall Angle; and two sisters, Bonnie Angle Mullins and Ruth Crisp. Boyd was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia he truly loved his church and his church family. Before moving to Calhoun, he served for many years as a deacon at Newark Baptist Church. He was a proud and patriotic veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing and traveling and was a man who carried himself with pride. His faith and his love for his country were important to him. Most of all, he loved his family and valued the time he spent with them.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Gloria Rose Angle; daughter, Janette Wheeler; two grandchildren, Weslee Roberts and Ryan Wheeler; and three brothers, Fred Angle, Wayne Angle, and Mark Angle.

The family will receive friends at Thomas Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 29th from 12:30 until 2 pm.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating.

Following the service, Boyd will be taken to the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home @ 985 North Twenty-First Street, Newark, Ohio, to lie in state on Saturday morning from 10am to 11:30 EST. Followed by Full Military Graveside services at Wilson Cemetery at 12 noon with Rev. Matt Bryant officiating.
