Brenda Thurman

Mrs. Brenda Jones Thurman, age 69, of Ellijay, died Monday, September 2, 2019. Mrs. Thurman was born, November 14, 1949, in Pickens County, the daughter of the late Dorsey and Jewell Mulkey Jones, She was a graduate of Gilmer High, worked for many year for the Burnt Mountain Center and attended Cross Roads Christian Fellowship. Survivors include; husband, Jackie Thurman, children and spouses, Brian and Melissa Garrett, Jonathan Dean Garrett all of Ellijay, Shea and John Seymour, Calhoun, grandchildren, Will, Brynley and Ella Walraven, brothers; Jimmy Jones, Darrell Jones, Ellijay, sisters; Lynn LaRue, Beverley McDaniel, Carolyn Pankey, Lou Jean Bradburn and Doris Gunn, all of Ellijay. Several nieces and nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 4:00 pm from chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Yukon cemetery. The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 3 until 9pm at the funeral home. Bernhardt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
