Burness BW Dalton

Burness "BW" Dalton, a beloved member of the community, departed this life on April 7, 2024. Born on July 18, 1937, in Boynton Beach, Florida, BW was the cherished son of Burness Osborne Dalton and Julia Frances Fain Dalton.

Throughout his life, BW was deeply involved public service and his community. BW honorably served his country in the Air Force as a staff sergeant, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to duty and service. After completing his service in the Air Force, he served two terms as the elected circuit court clerk and served two terms as the sheriff and collector in Piggot, Arkansas. After retiring from public service, BW was a successful traveling salesman. His commitment to his community continued in his activity in various Masonic organizations, including the Piggot Masonic Lodge #545 and Scottish Rite Masonry, where he forged lasting bonds of brotherhood.

A devoted member of the Piggot United Methodist Church, BW's faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him with strength and compassion. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith.

BW's legacy of love and devotion lives on through his cherished family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Robin Denise Herndon Dalton, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. BW had three sons: Thomas Fain Dalton, Steven Weldon Dalton, and Charles "Chuck" Rutledge Dalton, and he instilled in them the values of integrity, resilience, and love.

In addition to his devoted wife and children, BW leaves behind a treasured legacy through his grandchildren: Bekah Dalton Cochran, Luke Dalton, Josh Dalton, Jacob Dalton, Michael Dalton, and Mandy Dalton, as well as his great-grandchildren: Cole Cochran, Charlotte Grace Cochran, Fischer Cochran, Marshall Cochran, and Luke Dalton, Jr.

BW is preceded in death by his parents, Burness Osborne Dalton and Julia Fain Dalton, his mother-in-law Carolyn Herndon, and two beloved sons, Steven Weldon Dalton and Charles "Chuck" Rutledge Dalton.

The family will receive friends at Thomas Funeral Home on April 12, 2024, at 1 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2pm. Pallbearers for the service include: Cole Cochran, Josh Dalton, Luke Dalton, Chad Crawford, Steve Jackson, Dwayne Grizzle, and Darrell Grizzle.
