Carl Southard Jackson

Carl Southard Jackson III, age 69 of Dalton, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Carl was born on July 27, 1951 in Gordon County to the late Carl Southard Jackson JR. and Bessie Whittemore Jackson. He is a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. After his time in the Army he became a self-employed truck driver. Carl was a member of the Shriners. He is survived by his daughter, Becca Anderson Morrow and her husband Charlie of Dalton; three sisters, Jane Davis and her husband Mike of Resaca, Sharon Shackleford and her husband Frank of Sautee, GA, Marion Billingsley and her husband Wayne of Marietta; three grandchildren, Lilly Morrow, Andie Morrow, and Bennett Morrow. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Thomas Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic the family request that everyone wear face coverings and practice safe social distancing. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
