Catherine McBee Hughes

Catherine McBee Hughes, age 90, of Calhoun, passed away Friday, August 23rd, at her residence. 

Catherine was born September 24, 1933, in Gordon County, the daughter of the late Claude McBee and Tye Quinn McBee. Before retirement, she was an inspector with Herbcraft Mills, and when not working or taking care of her family you could find her working in her yard. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. “Red” Hughes, and her brother, Hughdon McBee. 

Survivors in her two sons, Jeffery Hughes and Michael Hughes. Brother, Charlie McBee, and a sister, Ruby Lee West. Several nieces and nephews also survive.  

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 26th at 1 pm, from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends on Monday from noon until the funeral hour.
