Charles Lynn Burns

Charles Lynn Burns, age 60 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, TN. Lynn was born on January 3, 1960, son of the late Charles Andrew Burns and Annie Ruth Hollaran Burns. He was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and was of the Baptist faith and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church most of his life. Lynn was an avid pocket watch collector, loved history, and enjoyed cheeseburgers. He was a great father. Lynn is survived by: his two daughters, Lillie Burns and Sarah Burns; granddaughter, Alana, and another grandbaby on the way; and a cousin, Charlotte Burns Baker. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic the family recommends that guests wear masks for the services and practice social distancing in line with the CDC guidelines. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, August 9th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Speaker Bruce King and Sandy Long officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include: Allen Walters, Howard Brock, Larry Robbins, Jason Sloan, Jeffrey Long, and J.J. Campbell. Jack McGaskey and David Jackson will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 9th from 1 PM until the funeral hour at 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
