Charlotte Linda McDougle, 82, was born January 22, 1943, the 4th child of Joseph H. and Lois Wilson Williams. She spent her entire life in Gordon County. After graduating from Calhoun High School, she married the only man she ever loved unconditionally, Marvin G. McDougle, Sr. June 2, 1961. Her only goal in life was to serve and praise the Great God of Heaven and the Lord Jesus Christ, to love her husband, to have children, and to love and care for her family, to teach her children the way to Heaven as she read God’s word to them before sending them off to school believing that she couldn’t be with them all the time, but God could. She and Marvin are the parents of Marvin G. McDougle, Jr. (Tina), Phyllis Linda McDougle Cochran, Michael Allen McDougle (Leslie), and Mitchell Oscar McDougle (Ginger).
Charlotte and Marvin owned a poultry and cattle farm where The Lord blessed them to raise their children. She loved the farm life, taking care of her family, raising gardens, preserving the bounty that the gardens produced, and taking care of the chickens. After the death of her husband, she was blessed to travel. She stated that she had never been out of Gordon County and was awed at the wonders of God she was able to see in her travels.
She died at home on September 13, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sisters, Faith W. Joyce and Phyllis W. Earhart, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, M.L. (Fate) and Edna Mae Sutherland McDougle, a grandchild, Jordan McDougle, and a great-grandchild, Ashley David McDougle. She is survived by her children, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, brothers, Paul E. Williams (Ann), David D. Williams (Hilda), sister, June W. Daniel, special friends, Arlice Defoor, Esdell Watkins, and Rita Deaton, special and precious friends, who were more like family, Levi and Sadie Mae Fisher, their children, Jonas, Elmer, Mary Liz, Daniel Ray (Emmy – children Jay Ramon, Arlen, and Allen), Linda, Leon, and David.
