Earl R. Pierce

Mr. Earl R. Pierce, age 83 of the Resaca community died at 6:15 PM, Saturday, November 4 in Calhoun Health Care following an extended illness. Earl was born in Sevierville, Tennessee, July 26, 1923, a son of the late Henry “Pink” Pierce and Nora Melinda Reagan Pierce; he, also, was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, July 24, 2000. He was a World War II, US Army Veteran and a Baptist. Earl is survived by two sons, Michael R. Pierce of Knoxville and Mark K. Pierce of Chatsworth; two daughters, Melinda Ann Carroll of Tunnel Hill and Lisa B. Moon of Birchwood, Tennessee; one brother, Fred Pierce of Lenoir City, Tennessee; one sister, Stella Bishop of South Carolina; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Graveside rites will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 7, at the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Sherman Wiseman officiating. The Pierce family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for the services of Earl R. Pierce.
