Elizabeth B. Tatum, age 77 of Ranger, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at her residence.
Elizabeth was born on December 8, 1942 in Calhoun, GA to the late C.L. Silvers and Bessie Parker Silvers. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was also preceded in death by: her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Annie Tatum; son, Marshall Tatum; two brothers, Lawrence Silvers and Ford Silvers; and sister, Irene Davis. Elizabeth was a member of Mount Carmel Church of Jesus Christ.
Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, and especially loved nanny. She loved her family and serving the lord. She was an avid gardener and loved to cook. She loved doing for others and never met a stranger. She took pride in working with her hands on their farm and loved to be outside. She was a true example of a Proverbs 31 wife and mother. She will be greatly missed.
Elizabeth is survived by: her husband, Jordan Tatum; two daughters, Donna Hales and Carol Mattos and her husband Clifford; seven sisters, Shelba Marker, Stella Tatum and her husband Ed, Charlotte Vaughan and her husband Bert, Shelia Calloway and her husband R.L., Deborah Tomlinson, Doris Blalock and her husband Buford, and Kathie Hartley; brother-in-law, Ralph Tatum and his wife Betty; two sisters-in-law, Sandy Silvers and Diane Silvers; five grandchildren, Daniel Nesbitt and his wife Sara, Megan Brandon and her husband Erin, Brandi Wilson and her husband Wes, Chandler Quinn, and Jessica Tucker; and two great-grandchildren, Kynlee Quinn and Maggie Brandon.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 11th at 3 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Tatum and Ashley Silvers officiating. Fay Bentley will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park with Reverend Hershel Pierce in charge of graveside rites.
Pallbearers serving include: Wes Wilson, Daniel Nesbitt, Chandler Quinn, Tracy Tatum, Jon Silvers, and Chuck Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers are: Joy Daniel, Carey Kelley, and Lisa Goforth.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1 PM until the funeral hour at 3 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
