Ellweze Sexton Mullins

Ellweze Sexton Mullins, age 85 of Plainville, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at AdventHealth Gordon. She was born on January 29, 1935 in Letcher County, Kentucky to the late Lundy Sexton and Lucille Roberts Sexton. Ellweze was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. She loved her family, cooking, and was an avid gardener. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Emmett Mullins, Sr.; sons, Emmett Mullins, Jr. and Charles Ray Mullins, brothers, H.C. Sexton, J.M. Sexton, Billy Sexton, and L.D. Sexton, and one sister, Louise Morgan. Ellweze is survived by two sons, Thomas Mullins, Sr. and his wife Francie of Calhoun, Clifton Morgan; two daughters, Thelma Schrimsher of Plainville and Nancy Carnes and her husband, Bruce, of Plainville; sisters, Bernice Covington, Mary Herrero, and Elinda Hilley; thirteen grandchildren, Leslie Mullins, Christine Bennington, Katelyn Reffitt, Arin Mullins, Jeanna Schrimsher, Michael Schrimsher, Elizabeth Allen, Thomas Mullins, Jr., Ryan Mullins, Tara Correll, Michelle Mullins, Jessica McCarter, and Amanda Dawson; and twenty great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, February 3rd at 2PM from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. George Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Garden. Pallbearers serving will include Jeanna Schrimsher, Michael Schrimsher, Thomas Mullins, Jr., Ryan Mullins, Braden Morgan, Derek Allen, Donuvan McCarter, and Billy Covington. Honorary Pallbearers serving include Arin Mullins, Clifton Morgan, Jr., and Greg Banks. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 12 PM until 2 PM at the funeral home.
