Elsie Fain, age 78 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Advent Health Gordon.


Elsie was born on August 6, 1943 in Dade County, GA, daughter of the late Russell Lee Moore and Johnnie Mae Buckles Moore. In addition to her parents, Elsie was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Fain; and two brothers, Franklin “Cooter” Moore and Glenn Moore. She was a resident of Gordon County, GA for most of her married life and attended Calvary Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement Elsie was employed by Mohawk.

Elsie is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren:
Daughter, Sharon Baker and her husband Steve, and their children, Cody Baker, April May and her husband Jeremy and their children Lilly and Briley May ; Daughter, Shelia Smith and her husband Rusty, and their children, Summer Smith, Misty Lackey and her husband Alan and their children, Elijah, Evie, Dawson, Brady, and Sommer; a son, Bob Fain and his wife Miranda and their children, Preston Fain , Whitney Young and her husband Cory and their children, Will Young, Natalie Young, and Finn Young; step daughter, Wanda Stewart and her husband Curtis and their children Barry and Todd; A special nephew, Gary Moore and other nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Alan Lackey, Brady Lackey, Preston Fain, Cory Young, Cody Baker, and Jeremy May. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
