Ernest “C.H.” Holden, age 89 of Calhoun died Saturday, July 6 in the Pruitt Health-Shepherd Hills Care Center of LaFayette.
Ernest was born, November 15, 1929 in Gordon County a son of the late Charlie Holden and Ella Jordan Holden. Also, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Inez McCollum Holden and his second wife, Clara Hunter Holden; two sisters, Clara Mae Priest, Florene Casey, a son, Michael Holden; two brothers, Carl Holden and T.J. Holden, a grandson David Holden and two great, great granddaughters Madilyn Fleetwood and Bella Rose Stone. He served with honor in the US Army during the Korean War.
Ernest is survived by two sons, Larry Holden of Plainville, Ricky Holden and his wife Gail of Resaca; two daughters, Joann Pitts and her husband Ron of Plainville and Patricia Brinson of Titusville, Florida; one brother, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 13 great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 10
at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Fred McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Gordon Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers are, Roger and Randy Gilbert, Wayne and Patrick Holden, Jim Hunter, and Joe Striblin. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 AM Wednesday.
