Geneva Owens

Mrs. Geneva Horne Owens, age 81 of 122 Timber Ridge Dr. N.E., Calhoun, died Monday November 6th. following an extended illness. Mrs. Owens was born in Whitfield County, Ga. on April 13, 1925 daughter of the late Lon and Estelle Middleton Horne. She was a member of the Calhoun First United Methodist Church and a past member of the Unted Methodist Women and was formerly employed as a Raulway Office Clerk with the N C & St. L Railroad. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two Brothers: J.L and Walter Horne. Survivors include her husband Don R. Owens of Calhoun, One daughter and son-in-law: Debra and Richard Guinter of Calhoun, one granddaughter; Jennifer Guinter also of Calhoun along with nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday November 8th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral with Jon Ponder officiating. Interement will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbeaers serving include Mark and Blake Horne, David Monty Owens and Butch Layson and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 A.M. Wednesday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Friends of the Library in Calhoun. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
