Gladys Bryant Gilreath, age 84 of Gordon County, GA, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA.

 

Gladys was born on April 4, 1938 in Cienfuegos, Cuba, daughter of the late Jose Bello and Hilda Ferrer Bello. In addition to her parents, Gladys was also preceded in death by: her first husband, William L. Bryant; and second husband, Lucius B. Gilreath. Gladys moved to Gordon County, GA in 1970 to work as a teacher for Calhoun High School until her retirement in 1992. She then went to work for K-Mart from 1992 to 2015. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

 

Gladys is survived by: one son, William J. Bryant and his wife Donna of Calhoun, GA; three daughters, Margarita Lowrance and her husband Billy of Calhoun, GA, Kimberly Oney and her husband Jim of Rome, GA, and Sherri Davis and her husband Tony of Chatsworth, GA; one brother, Jose Bello and his wife Esther of Fort Walton Beach, FL; one sister, Hilda Bode and her husband Reynaldo of Miami, FL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive.

 

Funeral service will be conducted Friday August 5th at 11 A.M. from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Burgner officiating. Music will be provided by Brenda Watkins. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens.

 

Retired teachers are ask to serve as honorary escorts.

 

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 8 P.M.
