Grace Calhoun Karp

Mrs. Grace Calhoun Karp, age 84 of Acworth, Georgia, formerly of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, September 16th, 2026. 

Mrs. Karp was born in Augusta, Georgia on July 5th, 1942, a daughter of the late John Calhoun and Ruth James Calhoun. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Stanley Karp; one son, Milton Karp; one daughter, Harriett Karp; one brother, Preston Calhoun; two sisters, Beverly Calhoun and Trudie Brantley. Mrs. Karp was of the Baptist faith and was a faithful Christian. He love for the Lord was evident in her personality and the love she showed others, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and wanted to be involved in every part of their lives. She loved spending time with good friends and reading. 

Survivors include her two children, Michael Karp (Beth) and Heather Karp (Cecil Sr.); two brothers, Timothy "Timbo" Calhoun (Jane) and Troy Poteat (Treasa); two sisters, Hazel Brotherton and Penny Barlow (Tony); twelve grandchildren, Sara, Jerry, Kenna, David, Leah, Jessica, Elliott, Ryker, Charlie, Shawn, Cecil Jr., and Steven; many loved great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, September 21st, 2026 at 11 AM at Gordon Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jason Fuller officiating.
