Guadalupe Hernández Socop, de 64 años, residente de Calhoun, falleció el lunes 21 de septiembre en el Hospital Gordon.

Nació el 12 de diciembre de 1960 en Santo Domingo, Suchitepequez, Guatemala, hija de los difuntos Gregorio Hernández y Sebastiana Socop. Amaba su iglesia y era miembro de la Iglesia Católica de San Clemente. Era conocida por su carisma, una persona generosa, siempre solidaria y amable. Era una mujer muy alegre que alegraba a todos los que la conocían.

Le sobreviven sus tres hijos: Víctor Queju Hernández y su esposa Karen Ramos; José Queju Hernández y su esposa Sara Yac Tizol; y Juan Queju y su esposa Lucila Iglesia. Sus tres hijas: Leida Queju Hernández y su esposo César De La Cruz; Lilia Queju Hernández y su esposo Emilio Becerra; y Angélica Queju Hernández. Sus dos hermanos: Marcos Guillermo Hernández y David Guillermo Hernández; y sus dos hermanas: Juana Hernández y Dolores Hernández. También le sobreviven trece nietos y dos bisnietos.

La misa funeral se celebrará el jueves 25 de septiembre a la 1:30 p. m. en la Iglesia Católica de San Clemente, oficiada por el Padre Arturo Merriman. El entierro se realizará posteriormente en el Cementerio de Chandler.

La familia recibirá a sus amigos el miércoles por la noche, de 6:30 p. m. a 9:00 p. m., en la funeraria.

Guadalupe Hernandez Socop, age 64, of Calhoun, passed away Monday, September 21st, in Gordon Hospital.

She was born on December 12, 1960, in Santo Domingo, Suchitepequez, Guatemala, the daughter of the late Gregono Hernandez and Sebastiana Socop. She loved her church and was a member of the St. Clements Catholic Church. She was known for being very charismatic, a very giving person who was always supportive and kind. She was a very happy woman who brought joy to everyone who knew her.

Survivors include her three sons, Victor Queju Hernandez and his wife Karen Ramos, Jose Queju Hernandez and his wife Sara Yac Tizol, and Juan Queju and his wife, Lucila Iglesia. Three daughters, Leida Queju Hernandez and her husband Cesar De La Cruz, Lilia Queju Hernandez and her husband Emilio Becerra, and Angelica Queju Hernandez. Two brothers, Marcos Guillermo Hernandez and David Guillermo Hernandez, two sisters, Juana Hernandez and Delores Hernandez. Thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Thursday, September 25th at 1:30 PM, from the St. Clements Catholic Church with Fr. Arturo Merriman officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
