Inez Gentry Underwood Moon

Mrs. Inez Gentry Underwood Moon, age 80, of Calhoun, passed away Monday August 5, at her residence. 

Inez was born December 10, 1943, in Bartow County, daughter of the late Harvey and Mary Wright Gentry. She married Christopher Moon and moved to Connecticut for approximately 44 years. After his passing she moved back to Calhoun. 

Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Herschell, Charles, and Dennis Gentry and a sister, Linda Gentry Patterson.  

Survivors include her two children, Jack Underwood and his wife Lori of Calhoun, and Cheryl Underwood of Knoxville. Grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Underwood and Grant (Morgan) Underwood of Calhoun, Sarah Thomas of Calhoun, Gregory (Julia) Thomas of Rome, and Stephanie (Chris) Fancher of Knoxville. Great-grandchildren, Everette Underwood, Aurora Underwood, Levi Underwood, Andie Underwood, Oliver Underwood, Bolling Graham Thomas, and August Michael Thomas Fancher. Inez had a very special friendship with Holly Prezekop. She is also survived by her sister, Dianne Gentry Wells of Dalton whom she had a very close relationship with.  

The family would also like to acknowledge her many friends in Connecticut and her wonderful care givers.  

Services to Cerebrate the Life of Inez Gentry Underwood Moon will be conducted Saturday August 10th at 1pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating.  

The family will receive friends from 11 am until 1 pm at the chapel.
