James Terrel "Knot" Anderson, Sr.

James Terrel “Knot” Anderson, Sr. age 77 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

James was born on December 26, 1946 in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late Wesley Terrel Anderson and Elsie Vivian McNorton Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by: his first wife, Brenda Sue Burdette Anderson; a son, James “Jimmy” Anderson, Jr.; a brother, Van “Little Van” Abercrombie; and a grandson, John Alexander Anderson. James was a veteran of the United States Army serving with the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of House of Prayer Church. James enjoyed fishing, golfing, and loved truck driving. 

James is survived by: wife, Carolyn Stone Anderson; son, John (Crystal) Anderson; three daughters, Jami Leigh Waters, Joyce Elaine (Larry) Jones, and Rachel Payne; brother, Richard Abercrombie; three sisters, Vickie Jones, Sherry Sheets, and Robin Gable; daughter-in-law, Sherry Anderson; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 2 PM until 4 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 4 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Daniel Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving include: Brandon Lewis, Wesley Leatherwood, Jacob Leatherwood, William Patrick, Billy Welch, Henry Rubio, and Larry Jones.

Honorary Pallbearers are David Kimsey and Jason Boggs.
