James Harmon Holcomb

Mr. James Harmon Holcomb, age 87 of Resaca, passed away Wednesday, November 22^nd at his residence.

Harmon was born February 5, 1936, in Murray County, son of the late James Jasper Holcomb and Annie Dell Blankenship. He was a faithful member of the Resaca Church of Christ. Harmon was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and was known as a trophy winning fox hunter. He retired from being a machine mechanic for various companies, Chitwood Rug, Sheheen Carpet, and Shaw.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Hayes Holcomb; children, James Gregory Holcomb and his wife Beth, Vicki Bennett and her husband Danny, Debi Gunn and her husband Roy; siblings, Liz Thomas, Lar Phillips, and Janice Easley; seven grandchildren, Kate Holcomb, Misty Miller, Tonya Podbielski, Niki Cochran, Cody Gunn, Tanna Bishop, Melissa Redding; seven great-grandchildren, Makala Redding, Matthew Redding, Tegan Bishop, Lexi Payne, Slade Cochran, Able Cochran, Bailey Podbielski; two great-great grandchildren, Mason Travis, and Alexander Redding.

Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, November 26^th at 3 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Jule Medders officiating. Burial will follow at MT. Zion Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are as follows: Tony Gunn, Cody Gunn, Todd Sisson, Roy Graham, John Hyde, Seth Cochran, and Josh Spillman. Honorary pallbearers are as follows: Danny Bennett, Tommy Hayes, Charles Croft, Fred Hall, Hank Chitwood, and Johnny Davis.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 26^th from 1 PM until 3 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
