James W. "Jim" Conaway

James W. “Jim” Conaway, age 84 of the Riverbend Road Community of Plainville died Thursday, February 24 at his residence.

Jim was born in Floyd County, September 9, 1937, a son of the late Carl C. Conaway and Snow White Conaway in addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Barker Conaway; and sister Willa Mae Rogers. Jim had lived all his life in the Plainville area community and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Plainville. He was a member of the Plainville Masonic Lodge # 364, F&AM. He loved hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was a great father to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Shane Defoe and his wife Jana, Darrell Conaway and his wife Susan; daughter, Judy Grant; four grandchildren, Aleigha Ponto, Katelyn Carlson, Kelsi Potts, and Tiffany Conaway; seven great-grandchildren, Bryleigh Defoe, Cohen Defoe, Mason Ponto, Kaysen Ponto, Maylel Ponto, Aubrey Carlson, and Kyley Carlson.

Memorial service will be announced at a later date.
