Jerry Sue Farist, age 81 of Gordon County, passed away on February 28, 2024 at Advent Health Redmond. 

 

Jerry was born on August 29, 1942, in Gordon County, GA, the daughter of the late J.L. Owens and Lydia Bell Anderson Owens. In addition to her parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Farist Sr.; four brothers, Larry Owens and his wife Myra, Tommy Owens, David Owens, and Harry Owens. Prior to her retirement she was employed at Lacey Mills. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

 

Jerry is survived by her children, one daughter, Lisa Baldwin and her husband Lee; two sons, Bill Farist and wife Jane, and Michael Farist and his wife Angie; several grandchildren Jessica, Allie, Ethan, Ryan, Catherine, Steven, Misty, and Nicole; one Great Grandchild, Ada Gant; one sister, Inez Owens and her husband Johnnie; one brother, Johnny Owens and his wife Cathy; and two sisters-in-laws, Mildred Loveless and Edna Owens.

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2nd from 11 until 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 2nd at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Baptist Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers serving include Zevan Gilbert, Jeff Parker, Chris Ratcliff, Matthew Osborne, Ethan Johnson, and Bo Blaylock.
