Jimmie Lee James

Jimmie Lee James, age 82, of Calhoun, passed away Friday evening November 17th in the Calhoun Health Care Center. Jimmie was born November 27, 1934 in Gordon County, daughter of the late M.L. Allen and Minnie Lee Tate Allen. She was a member of the Echota Baptist Church and prior to her retirement was the office manager for Northwest Georgia Paving. Jimmie was past-President of the Calhoun Elkettes and was an avid bowler. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Julian James and a sister; Jan Gordon. Survivors include her two daughters; Sherry Stephens and her husband Danny of Calhoun and Cindy James Jackson of Calhoun, three sisters; Betty Harkins, Bobbie Bearden and Sue Smith all of Calhoun, three grandchildren; Keina Jackson and her wife Samantha , Kristy Fitch and her husband Brad, and Shelly Stewart and her husband Eric. Five great-grandchildren; Ethan Moss, Brock Stewart, Clay Stewart, Raleigh Fitch, and Chole Fitch also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday November 19th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include; Brad Fitch, Eric Stewart, Brock Stewart, Johnny Harkins, Ronnie Walraven, and Randy Coker. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 12 noon until 2pm.
