Gary Hunter

John Gary Hunter, age 76, of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Heritage Hospice in Marietta.  

Gary was born June 7, 1946, in Anderson, South Carolina, son of the late J.C. Hunter and Latrella Roper Hunter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Calhoun. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Hunter, a daughter, Heather Hunter White, and three grandchildren, Tatum, Hunter, and Addison White. He leaves two nieces, Pam Dempsey and Susan Tuten, and a nephew, Bobby Hunter. A great-niece, Caroline Dempsey, and a great-nephew, Robert Hunter also survive.

Due to illness and weather no visitation will be held, and a private graveside service will be conducted at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Pearson’s Volunteers, Steven Pearson, 248 Reeves Station Road SW, Calhoun, Georgia, 30701.
