John Howard McFather

John Howard McFather, age 92 of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024 at The Pearl at Dallas.

John was born on April 18, 1931 in Calhoun County, GA, son of the late Roger McFather and Alma Milner Morris. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathleen McFather; and a daughter, Margaret McCoy Watts. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement he worked as an aircraft mechanic for Delta Airlines. He was a tinker of all things electrical and mechanical. John loved ham radio, photography, and most of all his family.

John is survived by: his daughter, Marie McFather Walker; seven grandchildren, Brian Walker, Sarah Nichols, Allison Ferro, Daina Watts Lloyd, David Watts, Sean Watts, and Jonathan Watts; and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.

The family will gather at Thomas Funeral Home on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 3 PM to go in a procession to Chandler Cemetery for graveside services with Reverend Wes Parson officiating.

Pallbearers serving include: Jonathan Ferro, Logan Ferro, Brian Walker, Marshal Nichols, Sean Watts, and Will Walker.
