Johnny Marvin Suggs

Johnny Marvin Suggs of the Red Bud Community died September 5 at his residence.

Marvin was born in Gordon County, a son of the late Daniel Suggs and Odia Pritchett Suggs. He was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and was educated in the local schools. Marvin was a Veteran of the Vietnam War with service in the US Army. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and other awards for honorable service. After being discharged, he worked in the local textile industry. His hobbies and pastimes were gardening and canning.

Marvin is survived by his godson, Gary Moore, and his wife, Wanda, of Calhoun; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Services for Mr. Suggs will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 12 at the entombment site near his home in the Red Bud Community with the Reverend George Gray officiating.
