Mr. Joshua James Levi "Josh" Freeman

Mr. Joshua James Levi “Josh” Freeman, age 52 of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 8th, 2026, at Advent Health Gordon.

Josh was born in Floyd County, Ga on November 11th, 1973, a son of Charles Randoph “Randy” Freeman and Rachel Holland. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Robin Freeman; his maternal grandparents, James and Betty Holland; and his paternal grandparents, Mose and Alice Freeman father-in-law, Donald "Duck" King. Josh was a hardworking and devoted family man, he spent many years owning and operating Trust Lawn Care, where he took pride not only in his work, but in the relationships he built along the way. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand or encourage someone who needed it. A faithful follower of Jesus, and was devoted to his faith, always quoting scripture and studying the word. His love for God led him to earn a doctorate degree in Biblical Theology. More than anything, he loved his family. He was a proud graduate of Gordon Central High School, Class of 1992. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures — fishing trips, hunting, raising chickens, searching flea markets for treasures, and spending time outdoors. He especially loved coaching and mentoring others, sharing wisdom, laughter, and life lessons with anyone he met.

Survivors include his wife, Christy King Freeman; two daughters, Abigail Freeman and Jordan Vantrease (Nick); two sons, Caleb Freeman and Gabe Freeman (Haley); father, Randy Freeman; mother, Rachel Holland; two brothers, Drew Parker and Wayne Freeman (Abigail); sisters, April Childers (Kevin), Shelbi Mungo (Demetrius), and Brittany Montoya (Desch); four grandchildren, Breysean, Nalah, Nike, and Noah James; two nephews, Drew and Blake Childers; mother-in-law, Sharon Ingle King

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026, at 2 PM at Skyline Baptist Church with Rev. John Dorsey and Bro. Buddy Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include Will McEntire, Jerome Pasley, Gary Sheriff, Drew Childers, Blake Childers, and Tim Langston.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 13th, from 11 AM until 1 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
