Kaylee Noel West

Ms. Kaylee Noel West, age 21 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.She was born November 29, 2004, and was preceded in death by a grandmother, Minnie Grisham, as well as a grandfather, Marvin West.

Kaylee was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Chatsworth. While Kaylee’s life was never easy, she pressed forward with unrelenting determination. She loved to go on daily rides while listening to gospel, country, and bluegrass music. She also loved taking long baths, playing her computer game (Zot), watching / listening to cartoons, NASCAR, & game shows as well as eating her sweet potatoes and prunes. Her most treasured word was to tell people "No." She brought joy to all those around her with her sassy personality. Her laugh was a pure sign of affection that we all love to hear. Kaylee proved over and over again that she could do things that she was told she couldn’t: walking, talking, eating, swimming and much more. She was an overachiever and showed that God’s in control.

Kaylee is survived by her parents Keith and Jennifer West; sister Gracie West; sister Cortney (Michael) Baxter; grandfather Gene Grisham; grandmother Argle West; nephews Jackson Lee & William (Will) Eugene; and niece Minnie Belle. She is also survived by special grandparents Lynn and Jenneth Eakin (Issac).

Special thanks to those who helped her along her journey including nurse Tori Martinez, PCP Courtney Johnson, Dr Douglas Laman, NP Susan Jordan, and PT Megan Loyd. Also, thank you to special teachers Becky Burch, Austin Norrell, Kacy Nix, Shannon Curtis, Phyllis Hufstetler and Trish McKenzie.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 15th, from 4pm to 8pm, at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday, August 16th, at 2pm, from New Prospect Baptist Church at 7629 GA-225, Chatsworth, GA 30705, with Rev. Harold Blackstock and Rev. Wayne Neal officiating.

Internment will follow at Franklin Cemetery in Calhoun with Rev. Randy Fouts delivering the graveside service.

Pallbearers are Hoyt Defoor, Dennis Melville, Mike McHan, Alex Neal, Jason Thomas, Joseph Thomas.
